8th Festival of young scientists of DEP has been held
Young scientists of DEP have presented their work on the 8th Festival of young scientists of the Division of experimental physics held on 10 April 2024 in the Ivan Supek wing lecture hall. After opening of the Festival and introductory remarks by the organizers and the DEP head dr. Stjepko Fazinić, the director general dr. David Matthew Smith did a talk on O-ZIP and other important topics for young scientists. After that, 13 PhD students and postdocs that graduated within less than a year presented their work related to their PhD topic. As in the previous years, the festival was an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the work of young scientists within DEP, while they had the possibility to present their work in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The PhD students and postdocs showed high level of motivation and enthusiasm which resulted in high quality talks. The speakers voted on the best talk, which resulted in a tight win by Ivana Lihtar from the Laboratory for nuclear physics with her talk "Relativistic Coulomb excitation of Sn isotopes". She has received a symbolic gift and a Festival trophy.
The organizers thank all the participants of the Festival for their contributions, the director general for his support, and congratulate the winner on the best talk.
