Institute Hosted JAEC Representatives
As a part of their official visit to Croatia the representatives of the Japanese Atomic Energy Commission headed by Dr. Takako Hirose visited the Rudjer Boskovic Institute on Friday. The guests were welcomed by acting director Dr. Jaroslav Horvat, Dr. Mary Ranogajec, Dr. Stjepko Fazinić and Dr. Tonči Tadić.
The purpose of their visit was to get a deeper insight into the Institute`s infrastructure and activities especially in the field of atomic energy. Japanese guests were particular interested into activities of the Division of Experimental Physics and Division of Materials Chemistry. During their visit the guests visited the Laboratory of Radiation Chemistry and Dosimetry, the Laboratory for Ion Beam Interactions and the Secondary standard dosimetry laboratory where they were introduced with the work of accelerators.
On this occasion the representatives have talked about available technology and discussed modalities of technology management at the Institute, and different possibilities of nuclear energy and nuclear safety in the Republic of Croatia.
Dr. Takako Hirose expressed her satisfaction with the traditionally successful cooperation between the Institute and Japanese organizations and institutions.
