EPR (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) or ESR (Electron Spin Resonance) is spectroscopic technique which detects paramagnetic centres (centres with unpaired electron spin). The transitions between the energy levels of electron spin are being induced. One can measure the relaxation into the ground state and characterize it via spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times.
