Biotransformations and biological activity of methylated flavones and their dimers-2nt phase
Natural compounds isolated from plant material find wide application in various industries - food, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, agribusiness, etc. Especially widely used are compounds from the flavonoid group, which play an important role in plant growth and development, making them potential biostimulants/inhibitors in agronomy. In addition, they find applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries due to their antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Flavonoids are a group of plant compounds comprising more than 6,000 different molecules, and the differences in their chemical structure significantly affect their bioactivity and potential applications. Within the framework of the planned research different methods for the extraction of methylated and dimeric flavones from plant tissues will be developed, the possibility of transforming flavones by biotechnological methods will be investigated, and their biological activity (in vitro and in vivo) and potential application, with special reference to the biotechnology sector will be investigated.
