In 2019, Croatian government signed the EuroQCI Declaration with the intent to participate in building a secure quantum communication infrastructure. A CroQCI consortium was formed, with the goal of deploying an advanced national quantum communication network. This encompasses building and testing of devices and systems that combine the best of quantum, post-quantum classical and quantum-enhanced solutions. The CroQCI will provide network architecture and project use-cases that will enable the integration of the terrestrial-based infrastructure with future Space component into a fully functional quantum communication network.
