Within this project, structural, thermal, electrical, and catalytic properties of A2O-TMO-IO-P2O5 glasses-(ceramics) will be investigated. The goal is to prepare glasses of different compositions by the melt-quenching method and to examine the glass forming region, while glass-ceramics will be prepared by spontaneous/controlled crystallization. Ultimately, the aim is to link (micro)structural changes resulting from changes in composition or crystallization with the results of electrical/catalytic tests. (Micro)structure will be investigated by SEM-EDS, PXRD, Raman, IR-ATR, and NMR spectroscopy. Thermal properties will be evaluated by DTA, while the ratio of TM ions in lower oxidation state will be determined by EPR. Electrical properties will be studied by impedance spectroscopy across a wide range of frequencies and temperatures. The catalytic activity of the chosen glasses-(ceramics) in (ep)oxidation reactions will be evaluated using the GC method or a coupled TG-IR system.
