The full project title is QUA/QUA Protein: Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis of Proteins for Biomedical and Biotechnological Purposes. At its core, the project approaches the issue of qualitative and quantitative analysis of proteins, peptides, and amino acids in a multidisciplinary manner. The newly synthesized reagent under the guidance of Dr. Nikola Basarić from the Laboratory of Synthetic Organic Chemistry (LSOK) at the Ruđer Bošković Institute will be subject to patent protection. The Ruđer Bošković Institute, in its longstanding tradition, maintains an impressive patent portfolio, and this endeavor aims to continue the mentioned tradition of innovation at the Institute. The implementation, development, and usability of the new reagent will be experimentally elaborated in the Laboratory of Bioanalytics under the leadership of Dr. Mario Cindrić, while the knowledge and technology transfer, as well as the bioinformatic development of the innovative software package, will be carried out in collaboration with the project partner, the company Conscius d.o.o. This adds a commercial component to the project, where efforts will be made to capitalize on innovation in the market, in line with the EU's strategy and development guidelines for the period up to 2030."
