CIR's scientist Ivan Sović published a high-impact paper in Genome Research

Feb 3rd 2017

Dr. Ivan Sović from RBI's Centre for Informatics and Computing (CIR), in cooperation with associate prof. Mile Šikić and Robert Vaser, M.Sc. from FER's Laboratory for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (LBCB), and dr. Niranjan Nagarajan from A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore, developed a novel, fast and accurate method named "Racon" for correcting errors in third generation sequencing data.Racon (short for Rapid Consensus) is intended for applications in de novo genome assembly, and enables a speedup of even up to 1000x compared to the best other state-of-the-art method, while retaining the same level of accuracy. The research was published in prestigeous journal Genome Research with Impact Factor of 11.351.
