BRIGANTINE Chemico-physical and multispectral Data fusion for Adriatic sea monitoring by autonomous vessel

ITALY CROATIA CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION PROGRAMME
IRB coordinator
The BRIGANTINE project seeks to address regional inequalities in research and innovation by focusing on the preservation of the Adriatic Sea as a catalyst for collaboration among researchers. It aims to bridge the gap between research institutions and maritime industries, enhancing synergy between these sectors.
A key objective of the project is to develop an autonomous monitoring vessel that will improve data fusion in monitoring processes related to the marine environment. This involves sharing cross-border expertise through joint research activities and developing innovative solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Furthermore, the project aims to strengthen ties with small businesses in the shipbuilding sector that are open to cooperation and technology transfer, fostering a more integrated approach to maritime innovation. By doing so, BRIGANTINE not only promotes regional economic development but also contributes to assessing and implementing solutions for the health of seaweed populations, thus ensuring a sustainable future for the Adriatic Sea.
