LaPlaChem targets the theoretical design, analysis, fabrication and experimental demonstration of a novel class of large area (of the order of cm2) fully or partially ordered metallic nanostructures for applications in chemical an biological sensing. In particular, the fabricated gold and silver nanostructures will be used as substrates for surface-enhanced spectroscopy whereby minuscule amounts of representative analytes deposited on these substrates will be uniquely identified.
This is a collaborative project between the Institute of Physics of the University of Belgrade and the Laboratory of Optics and Optical Thin Films of the Ruđer Bošković Institute.
