Optical metasurfaces fabricated by focused ion beam

The aim of the project is to design and fabricate metasurfaces with novel functionalities in the optical range using thin film materials and focused ion beam for surface structuring. In particular we seek to experimentally demonstrate concepts related to the flow of the displacement current based on epsilon near-zero materials.
The project combines the expertise and facilites of the Laboratory for Optics and Optical Thin films in thin film fabrication and metamaterial design and of the Laboratory for Materials of the University of Maribor in material characterization and nano-structuring using focused ion beam.
