Getting research experience

Oct 31st 2011

Laboratory for Physical Organic Chemistry offers chemistry students the opportunity to supplement their classroom instructions by working in a modern research environment with nonstandard facilities. The training includes participation in experimental and/or theoretical research on several topics such as:

  • synthesis of guanidine based superbases and study of their physical and chemical properties
  • cycloaddition reactions under high preassure and microwave radiation
  • mechanochemical organic reactions
  • microwave assisted reactions and
  • mechanistic studies of organic reactions in the ground and the excited state by using high-level calculations
