Article by RBI Scientist Published in the Journal Optics Letters
The latest article by Dr. J. Sancho-Parramon of the Division of Laser and Atomic Research and Development, entitled “Near-field coupling of metal nanoparticles under tightly focused illumination”, has been published in the journal Optics Letters (IF 3.316) and attracted great interest among the academic community. In the month of September, it was in second place in terms of the number of downloads from the website of the journal Optics Letters.
Moreover, the article also attracted the attention of the Virtual Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, which takes only the most interesting articles. Regarding the relevance of the paper, it should be said that there was widespread interest among the broad scientific community because in the article it is shown that the standard electromagnetic interaction in plasmonic dimers (nanoparticle pairs) can be significantly modified by the application of focused light. (Interaction with plane-wave light is usually considered.)
