Australian Ambassador Ms. Beverly Mercer and Professor Carl Schiesser at RBI

Yesterday, at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, the Assistant Director for International relations and projects Dr. Matthew David Smith held a working meeting with the Australian Ambassador to Croatia, Ms. Beverly Mercer and the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Free Radical Chemistry and Biotechnology, Professor Carl Schiesser from the School of Chemistry, University of Melbourne.
After the working meeting, prof. Schiesser held a lecture entitled Free Radicals, Selenium, Drugs and Hypertension Disease. Professor Schiesser is an expert in the field of free radicals and antioxidant chemistry and his presented his work on the causes and possibilities for treatment of hypertension, the third leading cause of death in the world.
