Humanitarian Campaign - The Twelfth Terry Fox Run
On Sunday, September 18, 2011, at Jarun in Zagreb, the Twelfth Terry Fox Run will be held, with the goal of raising public awareness and collecting donations for cancer research.
Funds raised by this well-known humanitarian campaign will be donated this year to the Ruđer Bošković Institute and the Children's Hospital on Klaić Street. Thanks to contributions already collected by this campaign, women with a family history of breast cancer are being tested to determine their genetic predisposition for this disease at the Ruđer Bošković Institute. Donations will also be used for the continuation of basic research in the area of tumors, which could help the development and optimization of new treatments.
The organizers of this praiseworthy campaign, the agency MPG, the Embassy of Canada, the Croatian League against Cancer, Zagreb Holding, the Regent Esplanade Hotel and the agency Media Val, invite all interested persons to participate in the various activities—running, cycling, skating or walking. It will also soon be possible to donate 3 or 4 HRK (+value added tax) by calling the Metronet number 060 800 400 and thereby contribute to the Marathon of Hope in the fight against cancer.
