New Publication by RBI Scientist in Organic Letters
RBI Research associate Dr. Aleksandar Višnjevac has published an article entitled First Zn(II) bowl-complexes modeling the active site of mono-nuclear metallo-enzymes in the prestigious journal Organic Letters. This work details the development of a novel generation of biomimetic models of mono-nuclear metallo-enzyme active sites based on specially designed Resorcinarene-based ligands.
The reported systems differ from classical biomimetic models in that they combine modelling of the immediate coordination environment of the metal ion with hydrophobi bowls that have the function of selectively recognizing the molecular guest. This work is the result of a study visit by Dr. Višnjevac to the Laboratory for pharmacology, chemical toxicology and biochemistry at the University of Paris Descartes.
