Paper by RBI Scientists Published in Chemical Communications
Scientists from the Division of Physical Chemistry, Dr. Manda Ćurić (Laboratory for Chemical Kinetics and Atmospheric Chemistry), Dr. Marina Juribašić (Laboratory for Chemical Kinetics and Atmospheric Chemistry), Dr. Darko Babić (Theoretical Chemistry Group) and Dr. Krešimir Molčanov (Laboratory for Chemical and Biological Crystallography) published the paper “New Insight into Solid-State Molecular Dynamics: Mechanochemical Synthesis of Azobenzene/Triphenylphosphine Palladacycles” in Chemical Communications(IF2010=5.787), a prominent journal in the field of chemistry.
The paper was published in cooperation with Dr. Dominik Cinčić of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science,UniversityofZagreb, and Drs. Primož Šket and Janez Plavec of the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana. The paper describes the first examples of mechanochemical reactions of ligand exchange on organopalladium compounds that reveal highly complex molecular dynamics induced by grinding the reactants in the solid state.
