Workshop on Strategies for Preparing and Submitting an NIH Grant Application
Peter R. Jackson, PhD, Chief of AIDS Research Review Branch (ARRB), Scientific Review Program, Division of Extramural Activities at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases/NIH/DHHS held today a workshop on Strategies for Preparing and Submitting an NIH Grant Application.
This workshop provided RBI scientists with the valuable information about the application process: registering with the NIH, planning steps, grant form completion, specific aim development, submission steps, summary statements, and resubmission. In addition to the application process, Dr. Jackson presented numerous practical examples, useful tips and guidelines on successful applications. Specific attention was given to the R03, R21, and R01 type applications. This training will undoubtedly be extremely valuable for RBI investigators in using NIH resources, avoiding common mistakes in the application process, establishing collaborations, increasing competitiveness, and sustaining a research program.
