The RBI Intensifies Collaboration with Leading French Scientific Institutions

At the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of France in the Republic of Croatia, delegates from the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI) led by the Director General, Dr. Danica Ramljak, will pay an official visit to France, organized by Embassy for the purpose of establishing and strengthening cooperation with top scientific institutions and universities of strategic interest to the RBI.

The latest article by Dr. J. Sancho-Parramon of the Division of Laser and Atomic Research and Development, entitled “Near-field coupling of metal nanoparticles under tightly focused illumination”, has been published in the journal Optics Letters (IF 3.316) and attracted great interest among the academic community. In the month of September, it was in second place in terms of the number of downloads from the website of the journal Optics Letters. 

Nobel Prizes at the RBI (medicine)

On Thursday, November, 3, 2011, starting at 3 p.m. in the Auditorium of Wing III of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI), Prof. Dr. Branko Malenica will deliver the third lecture in the Popular Science Series on the awarding of the 2011 Nobel Prizes in the Natural Sciences, entitled Receptors for the Recognition of Microorganisms and the Activation of Effector Mechanisms of Innate and Acquired Immunity.

New Significant Results from the Group for Hadron Spectroscopy

Following two significant papers in Physical Review Letters, members of the Group for Hadron Spectroscopy, Division of Experimental Physics, of the RBI, led by Dr. Alfred Švarc, published two related papers on excited nucleon states (1,2) manifested in the form of baryon resonances, in one of the world's leading journals of nuclear physics, the most recent issue of Physical Review C - Nuclear Physics.
