Dr. Ivo Šlaus, RBI Scientist Emeritus, was recently elected President of the World Academy of Art & Science. For the first time in history, the headquarters of the WAAS will be located in the Republic of Croatia, at the Ruđer Bošković Institute.

For the sixth year in a row, L'Oreal Adria and the Croatian Commission for UNESCO have rewarded the most successful young female scientists in the natural sciences and interdisciplinary fields who are in the final stage of preparing their doctoral dissertations. This year, the recipients include two research assistants from the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI): Martina Malnar of the Laboratory for Molecular Neuropharmacology and Galja Pletikapić of the Laboratory for Bioelectrochemistry and Surface Imaging.

Ruđer Bošković Institute scientists, in cooperation with colleagues from the international collaboration of CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST), published a paper entitled “Search for Sub-eV Mass Solar Axions by the CERN Axion Solar Telescope with He-3 Buffer Gas”, an Editors' Suggestion in the journal Physical Review Letters.
